Egypt’s Mubarek “Not Stepping Down”

Earlier in the day, the military’s supreme council met without Mubarak, the country’s commander in chief, and said that it was taking measures to “preserve the nation and aspirations of the people”, but it was not immediately clear how the army would react to Mubarak’s speech.
